Foundational Years Programme

The TRIO WORLD SCHOOL ICSE Foundational Years Programme focuses on providing a stimulating environment and curriculum for the holistic and healthy development of children. The Foundational Year comprises of three years of pre-primary (Nursery, Kindergarten 1 and Kindergarten 2) at TRIO TOTS and two years of primary (Class I & II).

Our Foundational Years curriculum a happy blend of various Early Years Educational philosophies based on the NEP 2020's proposal to provide the children with a child-centred curriculum that prepares them for the rigor of the Preparatory stage (Class III, IV & V).

The curriculum for the first three years of learning in the pre-primary at TOTS (Nursery, Kindergarten 1, and Kindergarten 2) is an eclectic mix of:

  • Multiple Intelligence Theory by Howard Gardener
  • Play Way & Kindergarten Method by Friedrich Fröbel
  • Montessori by Maria Montessori
  • Reggio Emilia by Lorris Malaguzzi

At TRIO we believe that all children can learn in a nurturing, supportive and child centric environment.
Our principles emulate the vision and mission on which TRIO stands:

  • Create a community of life-long learners.
  • Allow for individual differences and creativity in meeting academic needs.
  • Realise the implications technology will have on the children's lives.
  • Encourage each child to take responsibility for his/her own learning.
  • Support creative, critical thinking for students, staff and community.

  • Ensures the holistic development of every child by compassionately nurturing their personal, physical, social, and emotional development.
  • Promotes development in language, literacy, logical reasoning, and creativity skills through a hands-on learning approach.
  • Builds real world connects through field trips, guest visits, exhibitions, simulation and mock set-ups.
  • Small group learning for individual attention.
  • Prepares the children for a seamless transition into the latter two years of the Foundational Years (Class I & II).
